Hi Andy! We haven't had a chat from the Nasty Idols reunion-what happened after Perris Records decided to re-release your albums?
We (Nasty idols) did a lot of promotion for the releases of the albums. It even went that far that all the Nasty dudes decided to meet and discuse a possible reunion of the band. But a few of us can't stand being in the same room - so we decided for good to put the band to eternal sleep.

Any projects to be released with the monicker Nasty Idols or will everyone follow his own way?
We've pretty much done all we can do with that band. We will appear on some collections and stuff.
I know Perris Records is gonna release Hollywood Hairspray on DVD - with a brand new interview with me and a video of Nasty Idols.

Are you still in touch with George Swanson, Stanley, Roger White, Peter Espinoza and Dick Qwarfort?
Sometimes I meet up with Dick. He was at my birthday party - 2th of April.
But I never meet the others. We live a different life now - and even if we diden't. I don't wanna meet them to be honest.

Why did you decide to create United Enemies instead of continuing with your solo career?
I got the idea for a new band already a couple of years ago. I wrote a bunch of songs and started looking for people to play with. I diden't want to carry on solo anymore.
I tried it out but It was not for me. I like being in a band.

Tell us something more about United Enemies. How did they get together and who are the members?
Iv'e known the guitarplayer Mats Jeppsson for many years. But never played with him, except for an appearance on Swedish TV for my soloalbum. The bassist Christan Fridlund use to play with Mats in a band called 69-Hard. We got the drummer - Richard Dahl from a add in music shop. In september 2004 we started to rehearse and record songs.
The goal was early set - to be a band that brings out the nerve and the raw power in the music - straight up and fast forward.

The line up has completely changed from the first EP. What became of Toril Lindkvist, Andreas Sahlstršm and Mattias Svensson?
We decided to put that line-up to rest. There was never the right chemestry.
Toril went on and formed a band called Alice in Videoland. They are quite popular in Sweden actually. Don't know about the others. Haven't seen them ever since we went seperate ways.

"Love Kills" is the title of your latest release. Tell us something about the songs in it.
Love Kills: Love Kills is a straight punksong actually. Just chords together with a lyric melody.
This one is great live. People get it right away. On the second chorus they know how to sing along. I love those kind of songs. The lyrics is about love. It can be good but when love is bad it could kill you.
The Misfits: My favourite track. I wanted to do a modern "Youth Gone Wild".
A statement. It tock a while to get the pieces together. People tell me that they really like this one.

Dead Boy: In some way I think of Iggy Pop here. The intro is close to how Guns n' Roses started of songs. I think this one is a blast live.
Down: This one is a oldie. It appeared on Nasty Idols final album "Heroes For Sale". I always thought it was a really good track. But I was actually a bit sceptic to record it again. I don't believe in second recordings of songs. But I'm happy I did it. I was proved wrong.
New Drug: This is the second track I wrote for United Enemies. A fast track about wanting something new in life.
Love Destruction: The most odd song coming from me. A studioproject - sounds different live
I Don't Wanna Change: This one is our opening track live. I love this one.

How far do you want to go with that project? Is it just for fun or are you hopeful to achieve something more?
That's a tricky question. Of course I do it for the fun. Mainly I wanna play live.
And to do that much - you need to release your music in some way. And of course you wanna sell a lot too. So I guess I want to achieve something that can keep me on that fucking stage.

Usual question-any chance to see you live in Italy?
It would be cool. I know there's a lot of Italien rockers that want to see us live. So I hope we'll do it in the near future.

The Swedish scene seems to have reborn. Can you tell us your opinion about the following bands:
Babylon Bombs: Don't know. But Iv'e read some good reviews about them. Maybe worth checking out?
Backyard Babies: They kick major ass. Been together since the Nasty Idols days.
They really worked their asses off to get were they are today. That is respect. Some of their songs are also fucking close to classics.
Bai Bang: This band have existed for ages. Maybe time for a split up?
The Bulls Eye Dirt: Don't know.
Crash Diet: Don't know.
Cosmic Ballroom: A freind of mine made a video for them. They rock quit a bit.
Cowboy Prostitutes: Don't know.
Gemini 5: Don't know.
Hardcore Superstar: I know Jocke and Silver since way back. They kick ass!
Hellacopters: I really like The Hellacopters. One of my favourite swedish band actually. Their songs are sometimes fucking close to classics. I diden't care for their music in the beginning - I'm more into their latest stuff.
Loud'n'Nasty: Seems to be a fun band. I read somewhere that they sounded like Nasty Idols.
I don't know about that - but it's great that they carry on in a great tradition.
Love Injections: The band send me a demo once. Maybe they need better songs.

Is there a Swedish band you would like to tour with?
Dosen't matter really as long as we get along.

What do you think of bands such as Darkness, Jet, Strokes, etc-any new artists you like?
I'm a bit tired of The Darkness - but I like a lot of new stuff. Jet is good.

Talking of Nasty Idols, last year the band dvd was out. What do you feel when you watch those images and what is your best memory of that period?
I laugh a lot when I watch old stuff. It's hard to pick out one best memory.
Touring, parties and lot of girls - you know, It was a blast.

How is the typical day of Andy Pierce?
Getting out of bed- hopefully without a hangover. Breakfast - then I drive by my office. I check my mails and do a few phonecalls. Later on I maybe meet up with the guys in the band. Play a bit. Then I drink a few beers - maybe with a girl be my side. And if I get lucky - I fuck and sleep.

Ok Andy, that's all. Thank you so much for spending some time with us.
Good luck!
